You can study Helsinki Adult Education Centre's distance, online and hybrid courses from anywhere in Finland.
A list of courses with member discounts can be found at the end of this page. There are 11 language courses to choose from.
How do I get the membership benefits of the Trade Union Pro?
Registration links are at the bottom of the page. For the registration form, please select:
- Union membership - Union membership Pro membership
- Price: Language course fee (member of the Finnish Trade Union Pro)
The college will collectively check the memberships of those who have registered with the union. If the membership is in order, we will not send the student separate information about it.

How do I pay for the course?
- Pay online upon registration
- The price includes the union's 50% discount.
- The payment link is valid for 2 days. If you would like to pay later, please contact the office: toimisto@helao.fi.
- Registration becomes effective once you have paid the fee.
Studies cannot be paid for with cultural benefits, such as Edenred, Epassi or Smartum.

The Pro Trade Union supports the studies of its members by paying 50% of the course fee payable upon registration.

How can I cancel my course registration?
If you wish to cancel your registration, please notify us by email. toimisto@helao.fi.
Will the payment be refunded?
- If you cancel your registration no later than 7 days before the start of your studies, we will refund your payment.
When is a payment non-refundable?
We will not refund the payment if
- you cancel your course registration less than 7 days before the start of the course
- you have registered for the course, but you are not attending
- you are dropping out of the course.
