The Basic Education organizes adult basic education aimed at immigrants
At Basic Education in Helsingin aikuisto, you can complete the literacy phase, the intoroducory phase or the final. When you apply to Adult Basic Education, you will receive an invitation to take an entrance exam. We will choose the appropriate phase for you based on the entrance exam.
Studies usually begin in August or January.
The degree will help you access vocational training and obtain Finnish citizenship.

The Helsinki Adult Education Centre's comprehensive school organizes basic Finnish language courses open to everyone, priced at 40 euros, as subject studies.
You can participate in the course if you are over 18 years old, live in Finland, and can read and write in the Latin alphabet.
Do you want to work in the restaurant industry? Come and prepare for the Hygiene Pass exam!
The Basic Education in Helsingin aikuisopisto organizes a food hygiene course, which allows you to prepare for the Hygiene Pass exam and also take the official exam at the end of the course.
You can register for the course if you are over 18 years old, live in Finland and are not studying in another comprehensive school or in the second level. The course costs 50 euros.
Erasmus+ mobility project takes staff to different parts of Europe
The Finnish National Board of Education has granted Erasmus+ accreditation to the Helsinki Adult Education Centre's comprehensive school until 2027. The accreditation enables annual funding for student and staff mobility periods. The mobility is aimed at educational institutions (job shadowing, group visits) or courses in different parts of Europe.
