Personnel well-being

  • We conduct an annual workplace well-being survey.
  • Through regular development discussions, we map well-being at work and the need for competence development.
  • Through work motivation discussions, we offer support on issues related to work ability.
  • Using the early support model, we address issues that affect work ability, among other things.
  • We have prepared an ABC guide to psychosocial stress for supervisors.
  • We have prepared guidelines for handling inappropriate treatment.
  • The Occupational Safety and Health Committee monitors occupational safety and well-being.
  • The occupational safety and health representative acts as a support for personnel when necessary.
  • We offer occupational health care services that go beyond statutory preventive services.
  • We offer accident insurance for free time during employment.
  • We are flexible in our approach to balancing work and private life, for example through various working hours arrangements and the possibility of remote work when work tasks allow.

Equality and non-discrimination

  • In connection with updates to the civic college's equality and non-discrimination plan, we also regularly conduct a survey of tutors and students. The college's communications and course offerings are perceived as neutral from an equality perspective. The college's facilities and operations are perceived as equal and non-discriminatory.
  • We consciously strive to keep the college a non-discriminatory space where appreciative, renewing, and unifying encounters are possible.
  • The rules of order and the principles of a safer space apply to all activities of the community college. The aim is to promote internal order, the unhindered flow of studies, and the safety and comfort of the college.

Competence development

  • We familiarize new employees with the college and house customs at the beginning of their employment.
  • We map the development and sharing of expertise in development discussions and through separate surveys.
  • We encourage our personnel to maintain their own skills and to develop and train in ways that suit them.
  • We organize an annual teacher meeting and development day with a current theme.
  • We train all our personnel as needed, for example regarding safety.
  • We offer personnel a discount on college courses.

Organizational support services

  • The office and administration provide support in using the systems and with everyday problems.
  • The janitors provide guidance on questions related to the facilities and the use of educational technology.
  • ICT support handles support requests and provides solutions to IT problems.
  • The Marketing Clinic offers marketing support and inspiration to tutors.
  • We have compiled Intraa guidelines for different situations.

Security capabilities

  • The college has up-to-date crisis preparedness, safety and rescue plans.
  • We train our staff in matters related to fire safety, emergency situations, and containment of the coronavirus epidemic. We organize a safety walk for new teachers as part of their orientation.
  • We offer firefighting and first aid training to all staff. We offer first aid training to physical education and dance teachers, which includes sections specifically focused on musculoskeletal injuries.
  • We provide continuous and extensive training for gatekeepers, especially in first aid and emergency situations.
  • The protection organization, which consists of staff, meets for training and evacuation exercises 2–3 times per semester.
  • Staff is trained to report any irregularities, deviations or safety threats using an RH notification (risk management notification) for immediate response.

Economic

  • The college is non-profit in nature and its main sources of income are government grants, student fees, and project funding.

Quality factors

  • The college uses the CAF (Common Assessment Framework), a quality assessment model for public sector organizations developed in cooperation with EU member states. The college's operations and results are subject to continuous development through self-evaluation.
