Rules of order and principles of a safer space
The rules of order and the principles of a safer space apply to all activities of the community college. The aim is to promote internal order, the unhindered flow of studies, and the safety and comfort of the college. There is equality between everyone in the college. Everyone is equal.
Order rules
When I register for the course, I agree to follow the following rules of the Helsinki Adult Education Centre.
Good manners and safety
- I follow the school's rules and regulations and the instructions of the staff.
- I behave politely and in accordance with good manners.
- I arrive on time for classes.
- I do not behave inappropriately, I do not disrupt lessons or breaks.
- I do not take photos, videos, or recordings without permission.
- I do not use intoxicants or narcotics on school premises. I only smoke in designated smoking areas.
- I do not bring dangerous objects to school.
- I will pay the course fees as agreed.
Premises
- I take care of the cleanliness of the environment, I clean up my own messes in the classroom and in public areas.
- I take good care of the school's facilities and belongings.
- I am liable for damages I intentionally caused.
- Helsinki Adult Education Centre is not responsible for students' property. I make sure that my insurance is in order.
Compliance with the rules of conduct is monitored by all persons working at the institute. Helsinki Adult Education Institute may deny you the right to participate in Helsinki Adult Education Institute courses.
Principles of a safer space
Everyone has the right to visit the school safely.
We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, violence or bullying under any circumstances.
Treat others with respect.
Don't make assumptions about others. Don't mock, embarrass, or judge anyone through your words or behavior.
Respect the other person's personal space.
Everyone has the right to privacy.
Let's create a safe space together.
If you see or experience inappropriate behavior, you have the right to intervene.
