Craft courses
The college's craft courses live with the seasons. In spring 2026, you will use willow and other wood materials collected from nature in various forms, weaving, drilling and gluing.
Ceramics
In the courses you can learn to make objects and dishes of your own design by hand building. Techniques used include pinching, sausage and plate techniques. The clay surface can be patterned in many different ways, for example by pressing patterns into soft clay or carving into dried clay. The products are finished with colorful glazes. In the courses it is also possible to try pottery making.

There are also courses available where you can sew, for example, rocking horses with your child or learn about sewing machine maintenance in a short course. You can get acquainted with sewing in a morning course while receiving guidance and help with your own projects. A new addition for spring 2026 is the Clothing Patterning Course 1, where you will learn how to make a pattern for your own measurements. The courses are held in both Finnish and English.
Woodwork
The woodworking course offers participants the opportunity to make small wooden pieces either by hand or with the help of machines. You can request a certificate from the office once the course has been completed.
Handicraft supplies are usually not included in the course fee. You can purchase them from the teacher or according to the teacher's instructions.
Three reasons to practice handicrafts
1.
What you know stays and you can build on it.
2.
The past is not a problem, but an opportunity.
3.
What is made and given by oneself is caring, even love.
