Work and organizational psychology examines the relationship between work and organization from the perspectives of work psychology, organizational psychology, and personnel psychology. In the basic studies of work and organizational psychology (25 credits), students become familiar with the key concepts and theories of work psychology, organizational psychology, and personnel psychology, as well as their applications. They also become familiar with the methods of producing and evaluating scientific knowledge related to the field. In addition, they become familiar with the significance of social and cultural factors for work and organizations.
After completing the subject studies in work and organizational psychology (35 ECTS), the student will have a broad knowledge of key concepts and theories and be able to critically evaluate research in the field. In addition, the student will be familiar with ways to apply work and organizational psychology knowledge and can apply what they have learned in the context of their work.
The studies are useful for those working in, for example, social and health care, teaching and guidance, as well as management, development and personnel positions.
The studies are organized in collaboration with the Open University of the University of Eastern Finland.
