Nutrition studies the importance of nutrition in promoting health and treating diseases, and examines the importance of eating as a component of well-being. Basic studies include the basics of nutrition, nutrition and lifestyle, foods, nutrition and health information on social media and its evaluation, and the sociocultural dimensions of eating.

Studying nutrition science offers a good opportunity to supplement professional knowledge and expertise in working life and is suitable for, for example, teachers, social and health care personnel, those working in physical education and sports, those working in the food service sector and the food industry, and anyone interested in nutrition, health and their own well-being. The studies are also well suited as a minor subject/part of a degree for, for example, students of social, health and physical education sciences.

We organize nutrition studies in collaboration with the Open University of the University of Eastern Finland.
