Study law at the Open University. Helsinki Adult Education Centre organizes open university law studies in cooperation with the University of Turku.

Law studies are suitable for anyone interested in law. They are useful in many positions in professional life as well as in personal life.

Introduction to Legal Studies and Legal Thinking I, 2 credits

The course provides an overview of the themes covered in law as a discipline and the foundations of legal thinking. It is a good “information package” about law for anyone. Successful completion of the course is also a prerequisite for participation in other law courses. Therefore, completing it is useful if you are considering studying law.

Labor Law 5 ECTS

After completing the course, you will master the system of labor law norms and the functioning of the labor market mechanism. You will also be familiar with key labor legislation and understand the development and trends of labor law. In addition, you will be able to analyze and solve basic problems in the field of labor law.

Family and Inheritance Law 5 ECTS

In the course, you will gain, among other things, basic knowledge of relationship, child, guardianship and inheritance law, and be able to identify typical legal situations and the legal problems associated with them. After completing the course, you will also be able to prepare family and inheritance law documents and document sets suitable for various situations.
