Arrival
You can reach the college via the city centre's cycle path network or by bus and tram. Kamppi metro station is about a 10-minute walk away. Helsinki Adult Education Centre does not have customer parking spaces.
Changing rooms
The changing rooms on Runeberginkatu are located on the 0th, 1st and 5th floors. The changing rooms on the 0th floor have large lockable lockers, showers and toilets. The changing room on the 1st floor is a small unisex space. The changing rooms on the 5th floor have hangers for outerwear and small locked lockers for valuables.
Student facilities
The building has two separate kitchens with dining areas, on the 0th and 3rd floors. The college does not have a cafeteria, but there are coffee and snack vending machines on two floors, on the 1st and 4th floors behind glass doors.
Pram
We recommend storing strollers in the lobby of the floor where the course is held. Please note that the lobby is not guarded, so do not leave valuables in strollers. The floors are accessible by elevator.
Accessibility
Main entrance
There are two entrances to the university building. The main entrance is in the building's courtyard on the Sammonkatu side and the other on the Runeberginkatu side. Of the entrances, only the main entrance is accessible.
For barrier-free access (for example, when using a wheelchair), you must go around the main entrance to the barrier located behind the building on Ilmarinkatu, as the yard is bordered by a 10 cm platform on the Runeberginkatu side.
The main entrance has 7 steps, each 15 cm high, the landing width 230 cm and the depth 100.
The width of the ramp leading to the entrance is 100 cm.
Door width 2 x 75 cm, height 225 cm, depth of the wind cabinet 150 cm.


Runeberginkatu entrance
6 x steps, otherwise the same dimensions as the main entrance, but 4 x steps in the wind closet.
Elevators
The college has two elevators, the larger of which is located on the left immediately after entering the main doors. There is enough space in front of the elevator to turn a wheelchair.
Large elevator: width 90 cm, height 210 cm, depth 140 cm
Small elevator between floors 0-1: width 80, height 190 cm, depth 110 (not suitable for wheelchair use). The small elevator is not in use on weekdays between 10 am and 14 pm.


Office
The college office is located on the 1st floor. The office corridor is accessed through glass doors. There are 4 steps leading to the office. The weight limit of the wheelchair lift on the stairs is 225 kg. Office matters, such as course registrations and payments, can also be handled at the information desk in the lobby, which is located immediately to the right as you enter the main doors. The information desks in the office and lobby have a fixed induction loop.


Classrooms
Low thresholds at classroom doors. Chairs and tables in regular classrooms are mainly equipped with wheels, but chairs without wheels are also available.
The auditorium (1st floor) has fixed furniture, but the storage room next to the auditorium has movable tables that can be brought out, for example, for wheelchair users.
A ramp leads to the student lounge on the 0th floor.

Toilets and changing rooms
The accessible, gender-neutral toilet is located on the 1st floor. The toilet has a childcare level. The gender-neutral changing room is located on the 1st floor in room number 117. The key to this changing room can be obtained from the caretaker. Changing rooms for women and men are located on floors 0 and 5.
