Sound bowl relaxation in the test

The staff of the Helsingin aikuisopisto tested the sound bowl relaxation method under the guidance of teacher Oona Hänninen. The goal was to stop for a shared experience and take a momentary break from the hustle and bustle of work.

During the singing bowl relaxation, we listened to the harmonious sound of handmade singing bowls. During the relaxation, we took a comfortable lying position and tried to let go of everyday performance pressures.

The gentle sound of the singing bowls brought the body into a deep state of relaxation, and some of the team members even had time to visit the land of dreams.

– What a wonderful hour! In the midst of all the hustle and bustle, it was important to stop and relax for a moment, reflected Lauha Halonen, head of the Integration Support project, just after the hour.

– I believe that singing bowl relaxation is an easily accessible way of relaxation, even for those who have not previously practiced various relaxation techniques. The atmosphere created by the singing bowls was very special and took the experiencer on their own journey. This was the best Christmas present!, Lauha praised.

Teacher Oona Hänninen is a community educator (BA), Peter Hess® sound relaxation instructor, and meditation and relaxation instructor. She teaches courses related to mindful presence, relaxation, and holistic well-being at the institute.

– I offer ways to stop, introspect and grow spiritually. I draw inspiration from my experience with mental health and various mind and body practices. I have studied extensively Buddhist mindfulness practices, tantric yoga, yin yoga and other yoga traditions, Oona says about her background.

– My own spiritual practice is also strongly present in my work. I see life as a learning journey, where we are all constantly in the role of both student and teacher.
