Study voucher for Open University studies

What is a study voucher?

A study voucher is a means of payment for open higher education studies worth 30 credits for young people who have graduated from upper secondary education. The studies for which the study voucher is used can include individual study courses or, for example, basic studies lasting a whole year. The voucher is valid for two years and can be used either in smaller parts or in full at once.

How can I get a study voucher?

You can receive a study voucher in August 2026 if:

  • you have completed your first upper secondary education (baccalaureate, vocational basic qualification or vocational qualification) after 1 December 2025
  • you were under 29 years old on the day of graduation
  • you applied in the spring 2026 joint application, but you did not receive or did not accept a university place
