When can I register for courses?

Course registration for the spring semester 2026 begins on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. The course selection will be published for browsing no later than Monday, November 3.

New courses start all the time, so there's plenty of fun to do all year round.

Did you know that you can also register for courses that have already started? Past lessons can be deducted from the course fee when you are in touch toimisto@helao.fi.

How can I register for courses?

• online, where you can also apply for courses and pay for them securely
• at the institutes office at Runeberginkatu 22-24 (see office address) opening hours)
• by email toimisto@helao.fi by providing the following information in addition to the course: name, date of birth, address and telephone number.

Course registration becomes effective when you have paid the course fee.

Is it worth waiting in line?

If the course is full, you can register for the queue in the same way as you would register for a course. However, the course fee will not be paid until you receive a contact from the institute that a place has become available. It is worth staying on the queue, as some of those who have registered may have to cancel their participation. The queue also allows us to conclude that there is demand for the course and we may establish a parallel group for it.

Can I change the course?

You can change courses if you find that you have registered for a course that is too easy or too difficult, for example, if there is space in another course. In that case, please contact the institute. to the office to check the current situation.

Where can I get a printed brochure?

The autumn brochure will be published in early August and the spring brochure in late November or early December. You can pick up the brochure from the university building or Helsinki libraries.
